Frost School of Music’s emerging jazz musicians take on the scale and swing of the big band tradition in a concert at Clarke Recital Hall. The XJB Big Band performs Wednesday, November 18 as part of Frost’s 2026-2027 season, featuring underclassmen jazz majors in an ensemble setting built around classic and contemporary big band repertoire.
The program highlights developing performers working within one of jazz’s most demanding large-ensemble formats, where section playing, improvisation and rhythmic precision come together across brass, reeds and rhythm section.
