Founded by Mrs. Blanka A. Rosensteiel in 1977, the Chopin Foundation was born from the First National Chopin Piano Competition held in Miami in 1975. Chopin Foundation assists young American artists by: 1) holding the National Chopin Piano Competition in Miami every 5 years; 2) offering young musicians public performance opportunities in concerts held in Florida, and in collaboration with other presenters around the U.S. and throughout the world; and 3) providing scholarship assistance to promising piano students.
