During this global crisis, we want to provide an update on our planning for 2020. We remain committed to our efforts to stay connected with our loyal audience, partners, staff, and the communities, sharing Brazilian culture and art and bringing our newest productions to Miami and New York.

We understand the uncertainty about what will look like in the next months, and we will continue to follow the updates from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the guidelines from the government on limiting the spread of COVID-19.

With that in mind, looking at both onsite and digital innovations, the Inffinito Festival Circuit has changed its format. This year the Brazilian Film Festival of Miami and New York will have new segments and, for the first time in 25 years, will be divided into 3 stages.

  • Digital
  • Onsite Outdoors
  • Social and cultural actions in underserved communities in Rio de Janeiro

The first stage was digital, from May 5 to 31, at www.inff.online platform, with a film series honoring actor, director, and playwright Domingos de Oliveira. The Inffinito Circuit exclusively debuted Domingo's new film "The Magnificent 8", not yet released in the commercial circuit. Also, we had debates and lives with actors and producers who worked with the director in films - still available on our platform. All free programming.

The awaited annual Brazilian Film Festival of Miami - BRAFF Miami is confirmed! The 24th edition will be held from September 12 to 19, 2020. In this second stage, most of its programming will take place online and outdoors. The New World Center Soundscape Park will host the Festival's opening, and the Competitive Screenings and Awards Night will take place at the North Beach Bandshell in Miami Beach. The Bandshell space is covered and has an excellent infrastructure for the Festival's concerts, screenings, and booths exhibiting Brazilian products and cuisine, as well as debates and lectures about the audiovisual market.

In October, Rio de Janeiro will host the third stage of the Festival with an online workshop of Documentary Films for young students from the city's public school system. At the end of the workshop, students will make a documentary short film that will be shown at www.inff.online and at BRAFF NY. Adriana L. Dutra, documentary filmmaker, and director of the Inffinito Circuit, will lead the workshop.

Actress Camila Morgado, content distributor Eloisa Lopez, entrepreneur Laura Fernandes, and producer Liliana Kawase are the curators of the selection of feature films. Zita Carvalhosa, Director of the SP International Short Film Festival, is the curator of the short films program. The actress, producer, and director Renata Paschoal is the curator of Domingos de Oliveira’s tribute screenings.

We are in this together, and creatively we will make positive changes.

Stay safe and healthy!
