Greynolds Park
Outdoor Experiences
Historic landscapes, native habitats and quiet stretches along the Oleta River make Greynolds Park one of Miami-Dade County’s distinctive outdoor destinations. Developed during the 1930s, the park preserves tropical hardwood hammock, coastal hammock and mangrove wetlands alongside limestone structures and other features dating to its early years.
One of the park’s most recognizable landmarks is its castle-like observation mound, built over remnants of the former quarry that once occupied the site. Walking paths and nature trails wind through the grounds, offering opportunities for birdwatching and exploring the park’s varied ecosystems. Picnic areas, shelters and playgrounds make it a popular setting for relaxed outings and family gatherings.
Greynolds also carries a colorful cultural history. During the 1960s, the park became known for Love-In gatherings that brought live music and counterculture audiences to the grounds, a legacy recalled today through the annual Love-In Music Festival. Recreational amenities include a nine-hole public golf course, while nearby East Greynolds Park offers additional outdoor facilities.
