Make a Splash at Amelia Earhart Park

Amelia Earhart Park is an expansive urban recreation and outdoor sports compound. The 515-acre park was once part of a Naval Air Station where Amelia Earhart embarked on her final journey. Named in her honor, the park is now a one-of-a-kind destination for all things recreation. With multiple lakes, it's a haven for water sports enthusiasts and houses the Miami Watersports Complex – one of the country's largest wakeboard parks. In addition to wakeboarding, the park offers various water activities, including wake skating, water skiing and knee boarding.

The park also has volleyball courts, bike trails, a disc golf course and the Soccer 5 complex. Beyond the athletic options, Amelia Earhart Park is the perfect setting for relaxation and family fun. Amenities include a petting zoo, a bark park, an island playground, and beautiful vistas and picture-perfect spots.

Fun and Food at The Yards at Amelia

Discover The Yards at Amelia, Hialeah's newest hotspot. The venue has three indoor pickleball courts, a backyard oasis and some of Miami's best food trucks. You can try mouthwatering pizza and pasta from Pia's Not Just Pizza, delectable sushi rolls from Temaki and one-of-a-kind Cuban gelato at Naranja Pina Gelato. Hialeah's Best-Kept Foodie Secrets

No guide is complete without a list of must-visit foodie spots. When the craving for Latin American food hits, Hialeah is the place to be. The neighborhood is famous for authentic Cuban, Argentinean, Spanish and Peruvian restaurants. Whether you're looking for a casual bite or fine dining options, you'll find it in Hialeah.

    El Mejor Batido de Hialeah

Head to El Mejor Batido de Hialeah (Hialeah’s Best Milkshake) for a casual meal and enjoy one of the signature milkshakes or fresh juices, made with fresh tropical fruits, including mango, papaya and guava. This spot is known for offering some of the best Cuban sandwiches in town. Other fan favorites include pan con lechon, a roasted pork sandwich that can be customized with toppings of your choice.

    Tio Colo

Indulge in the flavors of Tio Colo, a beloved Hialeah eatery. Since the early 2000s, Tio Colo has been renowned for its addictive bocaditos de helado (ice cream sandwiches). Try the classic mantecado ice cream for an authentic Hispanic flavor that’s rich and creamy, like custard. Tio Colo offers more than just desserts – don't miss the Cuban pizzas with flavors ranging from traditional cheese and pepperoni to shrimp and guava.

    Breadman Miami

This bakery has captured the love of locals. With humble beginnings as the hobby of a husband-and-wife duo, Breadman Miami now has two locations – this one in Hialeah and another in Westchester. The bakery is famous for its sweet pastries, including Nutella with cream cheese, mango and the classic Cuban guava. In addition to baked treats, Breadman Miami offers an expansive sandwich menu with fan favorites like the SuperMeng, featuring shredded steak, American cheese, onions and two fried eggs.

    Trigo Café

In the heart of Hialeah, you'll find Trigo Café, where you can enjoy a delicious meal. The restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, a special brunch menu, Spanish tapas, and curated wine and beer selections. Be sure to try the Isla Canarias croquetas and one of the specialty coffee drinks, like the Trigo Frappuccino, an espresso coffee blended with a Cuban-style wheat milkshake. For an authentic Cuban meal, order the Hialeah Comfort, featuring two fried eggs, white rice and sweet plantains. This is the kind of meal you’d surely find inside any Cuban family’s home.
