Grapeland Water Park

Grapeland Water Park

While Grapeland Water Park is currently closed due to COVID-19 restrictions, it’s worth bookmarking for future Miami travel plans. This one-of-a-kind splash park designed by famed Miami pop artist Romero Britto makes for a fun-filled outdoor adventure for families with young children. The pirate-themed water park near Miami International Airport is filled with Britto’s colorful cartoon-like characters, from an enormous octopus to pirate ships and fish swimming under the sea.

Waterslides & Pools

Located in the Airport area, near the grounds of the International Links Melreese Country Club, Grapleand boasts waterslides, a lazy river, a pool and shallow water play areas with water buckets and cannons. At just 13 acres, the relatively small park is best suited for younger, school-aged children. The park consists of four main attractions including Captain’s Lagoon, a recreational pool with a gradual, beach-like entry and a maximum depth of six feet, and Buccaneer River Ride, a lazy river where you can plop down on a large inflatable inner tube and let the current carry you away. There are also two shipwreck-themed water slide areas, one designated for toddlers and their parents and another where bigger kids can splash and play.

Lifeguards & Snack Bar

Safety is a top priority. Staffed with lifeguards and equipped with life jackets, you’re in good hands at Grapeland. There’s also a concession stand for when your family gets hungry and needs an afternoon break.
