"Coming Home" acrylic and charcoal on canvas
 by Jenny Perez

Jenny Perez is a culturally influenced visual artist based in Miami, Florida. With nearly a decade of experience in the art world, Perez creates projects in a range of sizes for a wide audience—from massive interior and exterior murals, to gallery-owned series and prints on mixed media, and at-home private collections around the world. Her artwork “Trinity” placed second in the 2021 Art of Black Miami Cover Competition. Her dynamic multi-media works have drawn widespread attention, leading to commissions for product development and in-store visual design campaigns with international brands such as Armani Exchange, lululemon athletica, Barry’s Bootcamp, and Prada, and features in international publications including DISfunction Magazine, Latina Magazine, and onCuba.

Perez began her career as an apprentice under internationally-recognized Miami-based masters Romero Britto and Erni Vales. The apprenticeships encouraged her to immerse herself in her own disciplined studio practice, and positioned her to become one of the pioneering artists in the rise of Miami’s Wynwood Art District street art movement. Perez will install her first monumental sculpture in Miami in 2022. She is a proud new partner of Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator as an artist in residence. DVCAI selected Perez for a 2022 residency in Suriname.
