Brazilian disco, funk, boogie and regional rhythms return to the turntables at The Sylvester for an all-vinyl session devoted to music from Brazil. Taking place Monday, October 19, A Festa: Brazilian Grooves On Wax moves through styles including samba, forró, carimbó and MPB alongside dance-floor-oriented sounds from the country’s funk and disco traditions.
The party is organized by Miami DJ and record curator Arun Brown, also known as Mr. Brown, whose projects include Miami Is An Island and the recurring Miami Vinyl Market. A Festa follows a September edition at The Sylvester centered on the same wide-ranging approach to Brazilian music on vinyl.
