Adele Myers and Dancers
May 03, 2025
Starting: 8:00 PM
Witness the intersection of athletic movement and theatrical storytelling through contemporary dance that examines contrasting elements of human experience. Adele Myers and Dancers: a world gone FABULOUS (work-in-progress) & T.W.I.S.T. will be presented on Saturday, May 3 at The Light Box Studio at Miami Theater Center, hosted by Miami Light Project.
This performance features a world gone FABULOUS, a new dance theater work created by an ensemble of Miami artists. The piece explores the juxtaposition of seemingly opposite elements—grit and glitter, flesh and digital interfaces, fantasy and heartbreak—through the company's distinctive blend of physicality, theatricality and humor. The evening also includes an excerpt from T.W.I.S.T. (These Women in Space and Time), a project supported by the NEFA National Dance Project.
Adele Myers and Dancers, a Miami-based nationally recognized company, has been creating work since 2010 with support from major organizations including the New England Foundation of the Arts, National Dance Project and National Performance Network. After relocating from the northeast to Miami in 2015, the company has received commissions from Miami Light Project/Here and Now and MDC Live Arts/LALA Residency.
From 2020-2022, the company developed T.W.I.S.T. while in residence at The Moss Center, with additional support from a National Dance Project Production grant and co-commissioning partner The Yard. The project expanded to include TWISTalks, virtual gatherings for women nationwide focused on sharing experiences and confronting disempowerment.
