Aesthetics of Decay by dNASAb
Through Mar 31, 2026
From: 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
A site-specific installation transforms one of Miami Beach’s most distinctive architectural features into an immersive exploration of ecology, technology and material reuse.
Aesthetics of Decay takes place March 20 through 31 at The Betsy Hotel on Miami Beach, where transmedia artist dNASAb presents a large-scale projection within The Betsy Orb, an elevated, egg-shaped skybridge spanning the alley between the hotel’s two buildings. The 19-minute XR cinematic work unfolds across six chapters, using the Orb’s curved glass interior as a dynamic projection surface.
Drawing from reclaimed marine debris collected in South Florida waterways, the installation integrates sculpture and film to reflect on coastal ecosystems and environmental change. The piece examines the intersection of natural systems and digital culture, positioning the Orb as both a visual environment and a conceptual space for reflection.
Free and open to the public, the installation offers an opportunity to experience contemporary media art in a setting that merges architecture, storytelling and environmental themes on Miami Beach.
