An Evening with Andre Frattino

Graphic novelist Andre Frattino discusses a new work centered on the experiences of children who left Cuba through Operation Pedro Pan and began new lives across the United States. The book launch takes place Saturday, August 1 at Books & Books in Coral Gables.

Based on years of research and interviews with members of Miami’s Pedro Pan community, We Are Pan examines migration, displacement and resilience through the graphic novel form. Frattino’s previous work includes adaptations and historical narratives such as A Land Remembered and Tokyo Rose: Zero Hour.

Admission is free with RSVP, though seating is not guaranteed. Copies of the book will be available for purchase during the event.
