Jul 17, 2025
Starting: 7:00 PM
Step into a chilling multigenerational tale of witchcraft, obsession and academic intrigue as acclaimed author Silvia Moreno-Garcia explores the haunted legacy of three women across time.
An Evening with Silvia Moreno-Garcia takes place Thursday, July 17 at Books & Books in Coral Gables (265 Aragon Ave). Presented by Books & Books and the Books & Books Literary Foundation, this event celebrates the release of The Bewitching (Del Rey), a new novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Mexican Gothic. The story centers on Minerva, a graduate student in the 1990s whose research into horror literature reveals unsettling connections between her great-grandmother’s childhood in early 20th-century Mexico and a mysterious disappearance during the Great Depression. As she delves deeper, Minerva begins to sense that the same dark force may be shaping her own reality.
Admission requires a paid ticket, which includes one copy of The Bewitching and access to the book signing line. Silvia Moreno-Garcia will sign additional titles, but all guests must purchase The Bewitching from Books & Books to join the signing. Free tickets are sold out, and priority seating will be given to paid ticketholders.
