Annual Miami City Cemetery Walking Tour
Oct 31, 2025
From: 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
Miami’s earliest stories come to life after dark in a guided walk through the city’s oldest municipal graveyard.
Annual Miami City Cemetery Walking Tour takes place Friday, October 31, led by resident historian Dr. Paul S. George and education coordinator Ingrid E. Argueta of HistoryMiami Museum. Founded in 1897, the cemetery is the resting place of figures who shaped the city’s early history, including civil rights leader Reverend Theodore Gibson, “Mother of Miami” Julia Tuttle, and Bernard Mackey of the Ink Spots Quartet. Participants will also encounter the unusual tomb of Carrie B. Miller, whose body was encased in cement.
The two-hour evening tour runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and welcomes attendees in costume or everyday attire.
