Art Deco Weekend at The Wolf
Jan 10, 2026
From: 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
A full day of talks and exhibitions marks Art Deco Weekend at The Wolfsonian-FIU, presented in partnership with the Miami Design Preservation League.
Taking place on Saturday, January 10, the program explores this year’s Art Deco Weekend theme, Land, Air & Sea, examining how the Art Deco movement shaped transportation design, domestic interiors and modern visual culture. Through a series of expert-led talks, the day traces Deco’s influence on ocean liners, airplanes, automobiles and the streamlined aesthetics that defined the early 20th century.
Following the talks, visitors are invited to a library open house featuring a focused display of Koizumi Kishio’s prints of 1930s Tokyo, curated by students of FIU art history professor Lidu Yi. The presentation offers a global perspective on modernism during the Art Deco era and highlights the movement’s reach beyond Miami and Europe.
Each session is ticketed separately, allowing guests to attend individual talks or build a full afternoon around the program.
