The Wolfsonian - FIU
Arts & Culture
Located in the heart of South Beach’s historic Art Deco District, The Wolfsonian is one of the largest American university art collections devoted to design, propaganda and the decorative arts. Boasting more than 200,000 objects, the museum’s collection contains artifacts that transformed the world during the pivotal period of 1850 to 1950 - from mundane household objects to groundbreaking designs, game-changing propaganda posters to graphic design and much more. Most of the collection is comprised of material from the United States and Europe, with Africa, Asia and Latin America to a lesser degree.
The museum is housed in a beautifully restored 1927 Mediterranean Revival building that was the former home of the Washington Storage Company. There is a design-oriented gift shop on premises where you can pick up award-winning Wolfsonian publications, books, jewelry, toys, kitchenware and more.
