Art-Making Workshop: All Hail the Mothership
Jan 19, 2026
From: 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM
A hands-on art-making workshop presented by PAMM (Pérez Art Museum Miami) invites participants to respond creatively to the monumental public art installation currently on view in Jungle Plaza.
Art-Making Workshop: All Hail the Mothership draws inspiration from J’OUVERT, British-Trinidadian artist Zak Ové’s immersive installation in the Miami Design District. On view in Jungle Plaza, J’OUVERT brings together towering Afrofuturist sculptures and ritual-inspired figures that explore ancestry, visibility and collective identity, transforming the plaza into a site of imagination and cultural reflection.
Led by artists Chire Regans and Thom Wheeler Castillo, the workshop encourages participants of all ages to design and build their own totems or masks using found and repurposed materials. Through guided making and storytelling, attendees will explore themes of transformation, identity and symbolism echoed throughout Ové’s work, translating large-scale public art ideas into personal creative expressions.
Art-Making Workshop: All Hail the Mothership takes place Monday, January 19, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Jungle Plaza in the Miami Design District.
