Beyond Time: Antonia Eiriz, Juan Sánchez, and Pedro Vizcaíno
Nov 01, 2026
weekly on Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday - Through Mar 14, 2027
From: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Figures that seem to exist outside a fixed time or place connect three artists’ explorations of memory, politics and identity. Beyond Time: Antonia Eiriz, Juan Sánchez and Pedro Vizcaíno is on view November 1, 2026 through March 14, 2027 at Freedom Tower in Downtown Miami.
The exhibition brings together paintings, works on paper and assemblages shaped by distinct Caribbean and diasporic experiences. Eiriz’s expressive figures evoke survival and resilience, drawing on a life that encompassed Cuba’s revolution, government criticism of her work and eventual exile in Miami.
Born in New York to Puerto Rican parents, Sánchez uses collage to bring memory, history and identity into a shared visual space. Vizcaíno, a former member of Havana’s 1980s street art collective Arte Calle and a Miami resident since 1993, creates assemblages that suggest alternative realities through close attention to the present.
Organized by the Museum of Art and Design at Miami Dade College, the exhibition is presented in the Wolfson Art Gallery on Freedom Tower’s second floor. Advance tickets are available for select visiting dates.
