Mar 01, 2026
From: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
A guided cycling tour traces the architectural legacy of one of South Florida’s most storied planned communities.
Bike Tour of Historic Coral Gables takes place Sunday, March 1, beginning at the Coral Gables War Memorial Youth Center. Presented by the Miami Center for Architecture & Design as part of Open House Miami, the outdoor tour highlights landmark sites that shaped the city’s identity.
Stops include the original University of Miami site, City Hall, the Coral Gables Museum, Merrick House, the Biltmore Hotel and the Coral Gables Congregational Church. While the group will not enter the buildings, guides will share historical context and architectural insights at designated outdoor locations.
Participants must bring their own bicycles and ensure they are in good working condition. Riders should be prepared to travel approximately 10 miles at an average speed of 10 mph. Children may participate but must meet the distance and speed requirements; helmets are required for riders under 16. Tricycles and training wheels are not permitted.
Open House Miami is part of a global initiative offering free, behind-the-scenes access, tours and educational experiences designed to foster deeper connections to the city’s built environment.
