Jan 24, 2026
From: 3:00 PM to 10:00 AM
An overnight family camping experience offers rare after-hours access to Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, combining outdoor recreation with a hands-on service project.
Bill Baggs Family Camping Night takes place Saturday, January 24 through Sunday morning, January 25 at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. Presented by the Friends of Cape Florida, the program invites families to set up camp inside the park and experience its natural setting after dark, with guided activities designed to highlight the site as a shared community resource.
The schedule includes afternoon check-in and tent setup, open time for fishing, walking and biking, a sunset walk, an evening campfire with s’mores and a guided nighttime spider walk. Campers stay overnight and participate in a cleanup service project on Sunday morning as part of the event. The experience is structured to balance recreation, environmental stewardship and education.
Tickets are required for all participants. The recommended minimum age for campers is 6, and all minors must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian. Campers are expected to bring their own tents, food and camping supplies, while the park provides designated camping areas, potable water, restrooms and campfire materials. The event emphasizes safety, respectful conduct and adherence to park guidelines throughout the overnight stay.
