From: 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM
A live recital highlights the contributions of Black composers, tracing centuries of classical music through works shaped by cultural legacy and artistic innovation.
Black Composers Recital: Centuries of Musical Expression takes place Monday, February 23 at Miami Dade College’s Kendall Campus, Room K413, as part of Black History Month programming marking the 100th anniversary of the observance. Coordinated by Professor Wayne Bumpers, the program presents classical works that reflect the depth, range and lasting influence of Black composers across generations.
The recital offers an opportunity to engage with music that emphasizes both historical significance and creative evolution, situating these compositions within a broader narrative of artistic contribution and cultural expression.
