BLUE Concert: The Clock Strikes 2:32 PM
Jan 30, 2026
Starting: 7:00 PM
An immersive concert experience blends classical repertoire with light, technology and spatial design as New World Symphony Fellows transform the Michael Tilson Thomas Performance Hall into a multisensory environment.
Conceived as a journey through seven distinct “rooms,” the program unfolds through shifting colors, textures and emotional landscapes. At its center is the harp, joined by a string quartet performing music that moves from the poetic sound worlds of André Caplet, Claude Debussy and Henriette Renié to contemporary works by Sally Beamish, alongside a newly commissioned piece by Quentin Lauvray. The result is a performance that invites audiences to move beyond traditional concert listening and into a space where sound, light and imagination intersect.
Presented as part of the NWS BLUE Project, the concert reflects New World Symphony’s commitment to experimentation and artist-driven exploration. BLUE, which stands for Build, Learn, Understand, and Experiment, supports Fellows through hands-on creative work that expands both musical practice and leadership skills.
BLUE Concert: The Clock Strikes 2:32 PM takes place Friday, January 30, at the New World Center.
