Bonsai 101 Series: Introduction

The centuries-old art of bonsai comes into focus with a hands-on introduction led by Glenn Hilton at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden.
On Saturday, October 18, Hilton, president of the Bonsai Society of Miami and co-owner of Miami Bonsai Specialist, will guide participants through the history, principles, and techniques of cultivating miniature trees. This session serves as the first in a monthly series, offering a foundation for beginners interested in starting their own bonsai.
Future workshops in the series will spotlight specific tree species and styles, from juniper cascades to bald cypress uprights and ficus broom forms, giving participants an opportunity to deepen their practice over time.
