A new monthly literary series launches at The Betsy with an afternoon conversation centered on nonfiction writing, publishing and the craft of storytelling.
Books & Books at The Betsy presents Alia Hanna Habib features the prominent literary agent and author in discussion with writer Julie Marie Wade. Habib is the author of Take It from Me: An Agent’s Guide to Building a Nonfiction Writing Career from Scratch, a practical and narrative-driven guide that demystifies the publishing process for emerging and established writers alike. Drawing on her experience representing Pulitzer Prize winners, National Book Award finalists and MacArthur Fellows, Habib offers insight into developing book ideas, finding representation, shaping proposals and navigating today’s publishing landscape.
The program marks the debut of a year-round literary series and mini residency hosted by Books & Books in partnership with The Betsy, internationally recognized for its commitment to literary arts. As part of the residency, featured authors spend time in The Betsy Writer’s Room and participate in curated community conversations designed to foster exchange between writers and readers.
The event takes place Sunday, January 25 at The Betsy – South Beach. Admission is free and open to the public, with RSVP recommended.
