A lecture and fireside conversation examines the lives and influence of two early figures central to Miami’s development.
Builders of Miami: William and Mary Brickell takes place Saturday, February 21 at HistoryMiami Museum. Presented in recognition of Mary Brickell’s 109th birthday, the program features author and producer-director Beth Brickell, who explores the role William and Mary Brickell played during Miami’s early industrial boom and their lasting impact on the city’s growth from frontier settlement to urban center.
The discussion draws from Beth Brickell’s research and her book William and Mary Brickell: Founders of Miami and Fort Lauderdale and concludes with a question-and-answer session with the audience. Admission is free for museum members and $10 for non-members. The program takes place in the museum’s South Building theater, with check-in beginning 15 minutes prior to the start time.
