Brothers António and Fradique Mendes Ferreira bring Calema’s blend of Afropop, Lusophone pop and rhythms rooted in São Tomé and Príncipe to the Miami Beach Bandshell. Presented Saturday, April 3 by LPR, the concert highlights the duo’s melodic, dance-oriented sound, which they describe as “pop tropical.”

Raised in São Tomé and Príncipe and later based in Portugal, Calema has built a wide following across Portuguese-speaking audiences in Europe and Africa. Songs including “A Nossa Vez” and “Te Amo” helped establish the duo internationally, leading to performances at major venues in Lisbon, Paris and beyond.
