CAM Fest: The Sounds of Nashville

Country storytelling, Americana and Newgrass come together in an evening featuring Frost ensembles Sunshine State and Big Cypress at the Knight Center for Music Innovation. Presented as part of Frost Music Live’s 2026-2027 season and the Creative American Music Festival on Tuesday, November 3, the program explores roots-based American music through contemporary student performance under the direction of Brian Russell.
Sunshine State, Frost’s contemporary country ensemble, draws on the songwriting and musical traditions associated with Nashville, while Big Cypress brings the faster tempos, instrumental interplay and progressive approach of Newgrass. Together, the ensembles connect country and bluegrass traditions with newer approaches to songwriting and arrangement.
The performance takes place on the Hormel Innovation Stage. Tickets are $10.
