Cocktails & Cinema™: Bea Arthur-The Documentary

Archival footage, a previously unseen interview and reflections from colleagues trace the life and career of Bea Arthur in a documentary screening at O Cinema South Beach. Presented Tuesday, October 20 as part of the OUTshine Film Festival: Fall Edition, Bea Arthur: The Documentary explores the performer behind Maude, The Golden Girls and her Tony Award-winning stage work.

Directed by Dan Watt, the 90-minute film follows Arthur from her early years in New York theater through a career spanning Broadway, television and film. Alongside her work as an actor and comedian, the documentary examines her outspoken advocacy, personal convictions and enduring influence beyond the roles for which she became best known.

Watt will attend the Cocktails & Cinema™ screening to introduce the film and participate in a post-screening Q&A. The program is part of OUTshine’s Fall Edition, running October 15–25 with screenings and special events in Fort Lauderdale and Miami.
