Cocktails & Cinema™: Celebrating South Florida Films & Filmmakers

South Florida filmmakers take the spotlight in a four-film program at O Cinema South Beach featuring one feature and three shorts rooted in regional voices and stories. Presented Monday, October 19 as part of the OUTshine Film Festival: Fall Edition, the Cocktails & Cinema™ showcase includes The Old Man and the Parrot, Duke, Brackish and Hogar, with filmmakers and cast members in attendance.

The program also includes Sebastian Echeverria’s Hogar, about a teenager confronting his father after a family secret is revealed; Roberto Pazos’ Duke, centered on a complicated return to Lima; and Joey Milberg’s Brackish, in which two friends face an emotional crisis at the ocean’s edge.

Scheduled guests include The Old Man and the Parrot producer Kevin Ondarza and director Gabriel de Varona; Duke director Roberto Pazos and lead actor Sergio Armasgo; and Brackish director Joey Milberg, producer Amber Guaglieri, actor Nathan Sabo, director of photography James Ruby, production designer Kathleen Carnivale and editor Gwendalyn Aca.
