Commemorate The Essentials of Haitian Heritage takes place Monday, May 19 at the Miami International Voodoo Museum. Led by Emmanuel (Manny) Millien, adjunct professor at Miami Dade College and founder of the museum, the event offers a guided experience focusing on key aspects of Haitian history, spirituality and cultural identity.
The evening begins with a tour from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., during which Millien will guide participants through the venue, explaining the cultural and symbolic meaning behind each featured piece. Attendees will gain perspective on the influence of African heritage, the Afro-Caribbean diaspora and Haitian traditions as they relate to art and community expression.
