Community Action Days

Looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? Join the Deering Estate's Community Action Days, held on the second Saturday of each month from October 12, 2024 through May 10, 2025. These one-day events offer an opportunity to volunteer for a few hours each month and make a positive impact on the environment.

Guided by the Deering Estate's team of naturalists, volunteers will participate in various projects, including beautification efforts, plantings, environmental stewardship and conservation. Activities may involve invasive plant removal, planting, mulching and cleaning up litter throughout the estate.

Volunteer requirements:

• Age 15 or older
• Pre-registration required
• Arrive a few minutes early for check-in
• Wear closed-toe shoes, long sleeve shirts, long pants and bring a reusable water bottle

What will be provided:

• Gloves
• Water cooler
• Receptacles for removed trash and plant material
