Concert for Kids: Creatures in Concert
Feb 01, 2026
Starting: 11:30 AM
A playful morning of orchestral music invites young listeners into a world where animals come alive through sound at New World Symphony’s annual Concert for Kids, a family-friendly performance designed especially for children ages 4 to 9.
This year’s theme, Creatures in Concert, features a lively musical menagerie, from the buzzing energy of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumblebee to the gentle charm of Henry Mancini’s “Baby Elephant Walk.” The program blends beloved classical selections with imaginative storytelling moments, including excerpts from Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals, Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, John Williams’ Jaws and animal-inspired works by Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate. Led by New World Symphony Conducting Fellow Ziwei Ma, the relaxed performance is designed to keep young audiences engaged while introducing them to the expressive power of live orchestral music.
Families are encouraged to arrive early for hands-on, interactive activities that help spark curiosity and creativity before the concert begins.
Concert for Kids: Creatures in Concert takes place Sunday, February 1, at the New World Center, with the performance beginning at 11:30 a.m.
