Day of the Dead Celebration

Papel picado, marigolds and lively performances bring tradition to life at CityPlace Doral’s annual Día de los Muertos celebration. Beginning October 20, the plaza will be decorated with colorful installations featuring papel picado, wooden calaveras, agave pottery and floral displays, on view through November 3.

The main event on Saturday, November 1 features a community processional with folkloric dancers, stilt walkers, mariachis and oversized calavera and Catrina puppets, along with a special youth performance by the Baila Conmigo Kids Dance School. Families can enjoy complimentary face painting, food samples from CityPlace Doral restaurants and shopping at the “El Mercado” night market, which includes offerings for both people and pets. The evening will be emceed by comedian Rafael Leidenz, who pays tribute to the music of Juan Gabriel.

The Day of the Dead Celebration takes place at the Fountain Plaza at CityPlace Doral, with guests and pets encouraged to dress in themed attire.
