From: 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Saturated color and partly concealed figures connect abstract painting with personal memory and political history. Diego Singh: Deeper and Deeper is on view December 1, 2026 through April 11, 2027 at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami in the Miami Design District.
The Miami-based artist’s first solo museum exhibition spans three ground-floor galleries, bringing together works from the past 15 years and new large-scale canvases. Organized around blue, red and bright yellow shifting toward white, the presentation examines Singh’s approach to monochrome painting.
Singh builds his surfaces through repeated layers of oil paint over dark grounds, creating translucent networks of marks that suggest skin, galaxies and topographical maps. Within some compositions, looping lines gradually resolve into the profile of a figure wearing a military-style cap. These obscured presences draw on his upbringing in Argentina and his family’s experiences of disappearance and exile during the country’s dictatorship.
Born in Salta, Argentina, Singh has work in collections including ICA Miami, Pérez Art Museum Miami and the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami. The exhibition is curated by Alex Gartenfeld.
