Don Pasquale

Bel canto vocal fireworks, romantic intrigue and comic deception animate Gaetano Donizetti’s story of an aging bachelor outmaneuvered by a clever young couple. Presented by Florida L’Opera & Zarzuela, Don Pasquale takes place Saturday, September 19 at Emanuel Luxury Venue in Miami Beach.
The opera follows wealthy and stubborn Don Pasquale as his plans to marry a young bride unravel through an elaborate scheme devised by his nephew Ernesto, Ernesto’s beloved Norina and Doctor Malatesta. Performed in Italian with English and Spanish supertitles, the production features orchestra and choir under the musical direction of Dr. Jared Peroune, with stage direction by Pablo Hernandez.
The principal cast includes Alexander Adams-Leytes as Don Pasquale, Ingrid Kuribayashi as Norina, Josué Brizuela as Ernesto and Alexander “Alex” Granito as Doctor Malatesta. Designed by architect Morris Lapidus, the venue’s historic ballroom provides an intimate setting for the comic opera and its ensemble performances.
