A Tony Award-winning Broadway icon pays tribute to one of musical theater’s most influential composers at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center. Donna McKechnie: Take Me to the World, The Songs of Stephen Sondheim, part of the 2025/2026 Broadway Concert Series presented by the City of Aventura, takes place Friday, March 6.

Best known for originating the role of Cassie in A Chorus Line, McKechnie brings her signature elegance and emotional depth to selections from Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, Anyone Can Whistle and other Sondheim classics, along with stories from her personal and professional connection to the legendary composer. Her acclaimed stage career spans Broadway, London’s West End and international stages, with additional credits including Promises, Promises, State Fair, On the Town and a recent year-long run as Madame Morrible in Wicked. Also known for her work in television and film, McKechnie offers a memorable evening of music and reflection, honoring a towering figure in musical theater history.
