"Dorem" Original and Traditional Yiddish Songs Performance
Oct 22, 2026
From: 7:30 PM to 8:45 PM
Yiddish song meets South American musical influences in a performance by singer and Museum of Miami artist-in-residence Alejandra Czarny at the Michael-Ann Russell JCC. The concert takes place Thursday, October 22 and centers on Dorem, a program whose title means “South” in Yiddish. Czarny combines traditional Yiddish repertoire with original music shaped by her cultural background and artistic journey.
She is joined by guest musicians Michel Gonzalez, Carlos Andrade and Kenny Aponte, along with dancers Rocío Leguizamón and Germán Filipeli. Together, the ensemble expands the program beyond a conventional vocal recital, using music and movement to explore connections between Yiddish cultural traditions and South American influences.
The performance is presented as part of the Museum of Miami’s In Community programming.
