Earth Week Miami Official Celebration
Apr 24, 2026
From: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
A launch event at Mango’s South Beach highlights a student-led design project addressing environmental challenges tied to sargassum seaweed. Taking place Friday, April 24, the Earth Week Miami Official Celebration brings together fashion, sustainability and community engagement in a social setting.
The program introduces designer and environmental advocate Runa Ray’s Student Sargassum Project, which explores the use of bio-based materials in response to the growing impact of sargassum on coastal areas. The initiative includes a collaboration with a design student to develop a garment concept that reflects emerging approaches to sustainable fashion and material innovation.
Held during Earth Week Miami, the evening combines project presentation with a casual gathering atmosphere, including food and beverage service. The event also includes a birthday celebration for local tourism figure George Neary, adding a social component to the program.
