Eddie Griffin

A veteran of stage and screen brings his sharp wit to the Miami Improv over Thanksgiving weekend.

Eddie Griffin, performing Friday, November 28 (7:30 and 10 p.m.) and Saturday, November 29 (7 and 9:30 p.m.), has been a force in comedy since his breakout in the early 1990s. Known for his fearless observational style and quick, free-flowing delivery, Griffin parlayed an impromptu 45-minute open-mic dare into a decades-long career that spans stand-up, television and more than 50 film roles.

Audiences may recognize him from the sitcom Malcolm & Eddie, his acclaimed specials Dysfunktional Family and Undeniable, or standout turns in films such as Undercover Brother, John Q and the Oscar-winning A Star Is Born. Throughout his career, he has remained a dynamic live performer, one whose mix of physicality, sharp timing and unfiltered honesty has earned him a place among Comedy Central’s “Top 100 Greatest Stand-Up Comedians.”
