Starting: 7:00 PM
Two generations of Caribbean hitmakers share the stage for a high-energy night of salsa and merengue at the Doral Amphitheater.
El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico & Elvis Crespo comes to Doral Central Park on Sunday, April 12, pairing the legendary Puerto Rican salsa orchestra with one of merengue’s most recognizable modern voices.
Founded in 1962, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico has spent more than six decades shaping the sound of salsa across Latin America and beyond. Known as La Universidad de la Salsa, the group built its reputation on razor-sharp horn arrangements, dynamic piano lines and call-and-response choruses that turn concerts into full-crowd celebrations. Their catalog includes enduring favorites such as “Brujería,” “Me Liberé,” “Un Verano en Nueva York” and “No Hay Cama Pa’ Tanta Gente,” staples on dance floors for generations.
Joining them is Grammy-winning singer Elvis Crespo, whose explosive blend of merengue and tropical pop defined late-1990s Latin radio. His global breakout hit “Suavemente” became an international anthem, followed by chart-toppers including “Tu Sonrisa” and “Píntame.” Crespo’s live performances are known for their infectious energy, driving rhythms and audience-wide sing-alongs.
Set in the open-air Doral Amphitheater, the evening offers a chance to experience classic salsa grooves and high-octane merengue under the stars, bringing together longtime fans and new listeners for a dance-filled celebration of Caribbean music.
