Electric Piquete
Dec 28, 2025
Starting: 5:00 PM
A free outdoor concert brings Latin funk energy to Ocean Drive as part of a weekly Miami Beach music tradition.
Electric Piquete performs Sunday, December 28, in Lummus Park on Miami Beach as part of the Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series, a long-running, free concert series presented by the Ocean Drive Association. Set on the lawn between 14th Street and 14th Place, the early evening performance invites audiences to settle in with a picnic blanket or lawn chair and take in live music steps from the shoreline.
Formed in Miami in 2007, Electric Piquete is a two-time Miami New Times “Best Latin Band” winner, known for a high-energy sound that blends Latin funk with rock, jazz, Afro-Caribbean rhythms, progressive elements and R&B. Their music reflects the city’s multicultural pulse, moving fluidly between groove-driven instrumentals and expansive improvisation.
The band’s most recent release, Azabache, is a full-length collection of new, largely instrumental material that highlights their rhythmic range and ensemble chemistry. In the event of rain, the performance will move indoors to The Betsy Hotel.
The Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series takes place every Sunday and is free and open to the public, with support from the City of Miami Beach, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, and the Ocean Drive Association.
