Experience Incendia: The Art Of Fire

Fire-ceiling domes and a stage encircled by flame jets frame three nights of electronic music at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park. Organized by Experience Incendia and Soundtuary, The Art of Fire runs Thursday, December 3, through the early hours of Sunday, December 6, during Miami Art Week. The event draws on Incendia’s origins as a Burning Man camp, where artists, performers and music professionals have developed fire-based installations for more than a decade.

The central Ring of Fire stage combines 360-degree fire jets with a VOID sound system. Beyond the dance floor, the grounds feature art installations, interactive exhibits, food vendors, bars and lounge areas.

The international roster brings together several strands of contemporary club music. Canadian selector Blond:ish moves between Afro house, disco and psychedelic sounds, while British dubstep pioneer Skream brings a career spanning bass music, house and techno. Liverpool’s Bontan and French-born, Miami-based APACHE add Afro-house perspectives, alongside Israeli-Japanese producer Yamagucci’s use of organic percussion and field recordings. Tech-house selectors GENNARO, formerly Blackchild, Argentina’s Jay de Lys and Barcelona’s Bassel Darwish broaden the lineup’s geographic and musical reach.

The lineup also includes AYYBO, GUDFELLA, Calussa, FLETCH, Riley (UK), The Botanist and Tiffy Vera.
