Faena Art Music Series: Major Lazer
Dec 02, 2026
From: 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Dancehall and electronic music meet a monumental beachfront art installation when Major Lazer headlines the Faena Art Music Series during Miami Art Week. Taking place Wednesday, December 2 at Faena Beach at Faena Miami Beach, the evening features an opening DJ set by Richie Hell within Christopher Joshua Benton’s A Lore Supreme. Faena Art hosts the event, presented by Chase Sapphire Reserve.
Led by Diplo, Major Lazer combines dancehall, reggae, reggaeton and pop through collaborations with artists from around the world. Since its 2009 debut, the collective has brought those influences to international audiences through recordings including “Lean On,” “Cold Water” and “Light It Up.”
Buenos Aires-born, Miami-based DJ and producer Richie Hell draws on psychedelic music, funk and percussion-driven rhythms. A longtime record collector, he moved to Miami in 2015 to serve as Faena’s music director, bringing an eclectic approach to performances spanning clubs, festivals and underground parties.
Benton, an American artist based in Abu Dhabi, explores migration and cultural memory through installations informed by fieldwork, oral histories and community collaboration. His A Lore Supreme reimagines the disco ball as a gathering place: a partially buried mirrored sphere standing 27 feet tall and spanning 44 feet. Thousands of wind-responsive facets reflect the beach and sky, while embedded speakers carry music and conversations tracing Miami’s connections with Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America.
The event runs from 6–11 p.m. Tickets are available through Faena Art. Chase Sapphire Reserve cardmember benefits include a private VIP area, priority entry and a limited-edition complimentary gift, with registration required.
