Festival del Platano

Juan Pablo Duarte Park comes alive with food, music and community spirit as the second annual Festival del Plátano returns to Allapattah. This year introduces Plátano Palooza, a friendly culinary competition where local restaurants present their best plantain dishes—sweet, savory, smashed or flambéed—for a chance to win the “Best Banana in Allapattah” title.

Festival del Plátano 2025 takes place Saturday, September 27, and is presented by The Allapattah Collaborative CDC. The event celebrates the neighborhood’s flavors and traditions while showcasing the creativity of its culinary scene.
