FilmGate Festival: Free For All

A wide-ranging slate of short films brings Florida-made stories, documentaries, music videos and web series to the screen without a set genre or theme. The annual Free-for-All edition of FilmGate Festival takes place Wednesday, August 26 at Silverspot Cinema in Downtown Miami. Presented by FilmGate Miami, the event serves as the final Free-for-All program of the year and highlights work by filmmakers based in Florida.

Pre- and post-screening networking gives filmmakers, actors and film enthusiasts time to connect. The Percolator segment invites attendees to pitch a project, skill or collaboration opportunity in 60 seconds, while a filmmaker Q&A offers insight into the creative process behind the selected works.

An awards ceremony concludes the evening with the presentation of Best Film of the Night, selected by a panel of industry professionals. The official film lineup and jurors will be announced closer to the event.
