FIU Music Festival: Ensemblast
Oct 30, 2025
From: 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
The Isaac Casal Ensemblast Quartet makes its FIU Music Festival debut with El Templar de los Tambores, a program that blends contemporary works, Latin American rhythms and world music influences. Drawing on repertoire from their latest album as well as audience favorites from their debut recording, the ensemble of violin, cello, double bass and piano moves fluidly between jazz, tango, folklore and original commissions.
For this performance, the quartet is joined by guest percussionists and Ballet Folklórico Aires Panameños, adding layers of rhythm and movement to the program. Isaac Casal is a classically trained cellist from Panama, founder of the Fundación Sinfonía Concertante (FUNSINCOPA), and a noted champion of music-education and genre-crossing performance—from classical to Latin, folk, and fusion styles.
FIU Music Festival 2025: Ensemblast: El Templar de los Tambores takes place Thursday, October 30 at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center.
