Dr. Wayne Wood, a respected historian and preservation advocate, is renowned for his work in documenting and preserving Jacksonville's architectural heritage. Founder of Riverside Avondale Preservation, one of the largest neighborhood preservation groups in the South, Wood has played a key role in saving numerous historic landmarks. An honorary member of the American Institute of Architects, Wood has published 15 books on Northeast Florida’s history and is often referred to as the “undisputed godfather of preservation in Jacksonville.”
