Free Second Saturdays: Everyday Objects, Extraordinary Art
This event has passed.
Creativity, storytelling and hands-on exploration shape this edition of PAMM Free Second Saturdays, inspired by Woody De Othello: coming forth by day and presented in recognition of Black History Month.
Families are invited to explore how art can reflect identity, imagination and the meaningful relationships between people and everyday objects. Interactive art activities encourage kids and adults to work with symbols, shapes and familiar forms, transforming ordinary materials into unexpected creative expressions.
The program also features live cultural performances by Delou Africa, Inc., highlighting traditional African dance and drumming, alongside a family-friendly poetry activation presented by BIPOC Poetry Night. Led by curator, writer and community arts organizer Brianna Clara, the poetry experience introduces young audiences to spoken word as a tool for storytelling and self-expression.
Art activities take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with free museum admission throughout the day.
