Starting: 7:30 PM
An evening dedicated to the versatility and resonance of the French horn unfolds in an intimate recital setting at the University of Miami.
Frost Horns & Friends takes place Thursday, March 5 in Newman Recital Hall at the Knight Center for Music Innovation. Directed by Richard Todd, the program features the Frost Horns alongside guest artists in a wide-ranging concert that highlights the instrument’s expressive range across genres.
The repertoire moves from classical masterworks to selections inspired by film, as well as jazz and pop arrangements that showcase the horn’s adaptability beyond the orchestral stage. Known for its warm, rounded tone and lyrical depth, the horn takes center stage in chamber configurations that allow for nuanced ensemble interplay.
Presented free of charge, the annual concert offers audiences an opportunity to experience the breadth of horn literature and the collaborative spirit of Frost School performers in an intimate acoustic setting.
