Future Stars of Ballet

Young dancers present classical ballet excerpts alongside contemporary, character and flamenco works in the culminating performance of Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida’s Summer Intensive Program. The showcase takes place Friday, July 24, at the Julius Littman Performing Arts Theater in North Miami Beach.

Students from the United States and abroad will demonstrate training in the Russian Vaganova method under the direction of Maestro Vladimir Issaev and the company’s specialized faculty. The program includes variations and adagios from La Esmeralda along with choreography representing several dance traditions.

Presented annually for nearly three decades, the Summer Intensive gives emerging dancers an opportunity to develop their technique through concentrated study and public performance. The event is supported by the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, The Children’s Trust and the Florida Division of Arts and Culture.
