Giro Ride Like a Pro USA
This event has passed.
An Italian-style gran fondo cycling weekend brings competitive racing, family rides and festival energy to Doral.
Giro Ride Like a Pro USA takes place February 21-22 at CityPlace Doral, serving as Race Central for this U.S. edition inspired by the legendary Giro d’Italia, one of cycling’s three Grand Tours. The two-day event blends open-course racing, recreational rides and a Tour of Italy Expo Village with Italian food, music and entertainment.
Sunday: Gran Fondo & Ragazzi Fun Ride
The main ride unfolds Sunday, February 22, with a 7 a.m. start for all distances. Cyclists ages 14 and up can choose from three open-course routes:
- Piccolo – 38 miles
- Medio – 54 miles
- Gran Fondo – 85 miles
Competitive Gran Fondo participants race timed segments throughout the course, with overall and age-group awards presented at the Premio Stage. All finishers receive a commemorative medallion, and registered Gran Fondo riders also receive a custom Giro cycling jersey, race timing, and tickets to the Saturday pasta dinner and Sunday Italian luncheon.
For those seeking a non-competitive experience, the Ragazzi Fun Ride follows the same distances at a personal pace, with on-course support, post-ride food and festival access.
Saturday: Kids Ride & Italian Festival
Festivities begin Saturday, February 21, with packet pickup and the 4-Mile Kids Quattro Fun Ride, a closed-course event designed for younger cyclists. The Tour of Italy Expo Village opens at noon, featuring vendors, entertainment and Italian-themed programming.
The evening culminates in the Classico Pasta Dinner & Race Briefing, held in multiple seatings at the Expo Village.
Tour of Italy Expo Village
Throughout the weekend, the Expo Village offers:
- Italian food and wine
- Live entertainment at the Premio Stage
- Awards ceremonies and podium celebrations
- Sponsor activations and cycling exhibitors
Open to riders and spectators alike, the festival atmosphere reflects the spirit of the Giro d’Italia, bringing a touch of Italian cycling culture to Miami-Dade County.
Participants receive event apparel, race bibs, course support, post-ride refreshments and access to the weekend’s Italian-themed celebrations. Registration is required for all rides.
